The 1976 Bicentennial Commemorative Three Peice Silver Proof Set is the most desired and sought after U.S. Mint proof set issued in the last fifty years. The set contains three silver proof coins only issued and released in this set. It contains the Bicentennial dual dated (1776-1976) Silver Proof Eisenhower Dollar,Kennedy half Dollar and the Washington quarter. The reverse or tails side of the silver proof quarter has the unique “Patrioit Drummer” design used one time only for this coin. The Bicentennial Silver Proof Kennedy Half Dollar in this set is the single most collectable coin of all time. This Three Peice set had an original mintage of four million and was the only way you could purchase these three coins. With more than half of the coins melted in 1980 for their silver content very few complete sets exsist today. Sets with clean complete government packaging bring a premium. I highly recomend this set for investment purposes and collectability.

I really like the dual date Bicentennial coins. I’m always looking for them in the change that i get and save them when I come across them. The 40% silver set is a really nice addition to my collection. I would recommend them to any serious collector. I like to show them to my friends and family because most people don’t know about the bicentennial coins.

How many times can you put a collection together? over the years I have had 2 individual sets , collections of coins. Gold coins, silver coins. Both coin collections included the 1976 bicentennial 40% silver set. So this is my third time since 1976 buying this set. this at my age is my last small collection of coins that include some nice coins such as my Connecticut commemorative half dollar ms-65, Texas commemorative ms-65. And some Morgan dollars, and Peace dollars, and commemorative silver dollars. So this old man is telling all the young collectors out there, enjoy over the years your collection. Just a bit of information, over the years I have realize I am a CUSTODIAN of my coins, just as previous owners where CUSTODIANS. It is our responsibility to maintain the quality of the coins you are in charge of, for future collectors !!!
